Time required: approx. 60-90 minutes
Recommended age group: 11-15 years old
Application: muzeumpedagogia@deak17galeria.hu
Group size: min. 8 people – max. 28 people (for larger numbers, we recommend that they participate in the session in two separate groups)
Available: from January 24 to February 24
The starting point of the interactive session is computer games created by children, and from there we wander further into the forest of the world of games: the simplest pixel figures of the Commodore 64 come to life before us, and then, by “playing” a real game machine, we reach the computer game-based creations of contemporary media artists. Through creative tasks, the students connect not only to the exhibition material and the history of computer games, but also to the theme of the game itself.
The session will guide you through the material of the C3 Foundation’s 20th free-range computer competition announced in 2022 and the exhibition celebrating the anniversary. In the C3 competition, participants under the age of 19 could apply with any self-made project created with a computer or digital device, and the fresh and original results of free experimentation and individual creativity, while the jubilee exhibition revolves around the concept of play.
Competencies that can be developed: creativity, self-expression, ability to work in a team, development of conceptual thinking, development of spatial orientation, visual and linguistic self-expression
