Restart! CTRL+ALT+DEL is the best combination to “revive” a frozen computer. This can be partly understood as the revitalization of the 20-year-old computer games included in the exhibition’s material, which wake up from their sleeping beauty sleep after a decade or two of rest on the occasion of the exhibition. In addition, this revival or reconstruction can also be applied to former computer figures and spaces that can be discovered in the works of contemporary media artists, since, for example, Pac-Man running on arcade machines is already in the 40s. During the session spiced with a historical overview, students can discover the paths and connection points in a maze of computer games.
The interactive exhibition guides you through the materials of the C3 Foundation’s 20th free-range computer competition announced in 2022 and the exhibition celebrating the jubilee. In the C3 competition, participants under the age of 19 could apply with any self-made project created with a computer or digital device, and the fresh and original results of free experimentation and individual creativity, while the jubilee exhibition revolves around the concept of play.
Competences that can be developed: creativity, self-expression, spatial orientation, ability to work in a team, development of conceptual thinking
