On the afternoon of Friday, March 4, we will think together about our feelings and our common responsibility related to climate change. The program is currently available for viewing, TRASH OR ART? organized as an accompanying event to our exhibition – at the exhibition, we present artist-student projects courtesy of the Jaschik school, which were created one by one in the context of upcycling art, i.e. creative recycling from an artistic perspective.
From 4 p.m., we will screen the 2020 film I am Greta.
The world-famous teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg’s journey from a one-person school strike to the UN climate summit, in never-before-seen footage. What is it like for Greta Thunberg, who cannot be seen on the front pages of newspapers, who at the age of 15-16 speaks to politicians with a courage and directness that puts leaders to shame, while the eyes of the whole world are fixed on her, and who, meanwhile, is a quiet, shy teenage girl who does not fit in with her peers? Director Nathan Grossmann filmed with Greta when she was not yet world famous, and thus he can see Thunberg, who has become an icon of the green movement in recent years and was chosen as Person of the Year by the Times magazine in 2019, up close and in candid moments.
The movie is free to watch. The film screening takes place within the framework of cooperation with Iskola Verzio, which is a free educational program of the non-profit Verzió Film Foundation.
From 17:30, after the film, we will examine the topic of climate anxiety in a panel discussion.
Participants in the round table discussion: psychologist Lilla Dézma, ornithologist László Haraszthy, Éva Macskásy, activist of Fridays for Future, András Kaprinyák, chef working on sustainable food, and Bálint Katona, specialist in sustainable development, members of Collaborative Webs
From 6:30 p.m., we close the program with a special food tasting and an informal discussion.
In the project of chef András Kaprinyák, the focus is on kitchen by-products. They conjure up princely dishes from ingredients that are already considered trash in the eyes of almost everyone, such as potato skins. At the end of the program, you can discuss the experiences and exchange opinions on the topic of climate change, which affects us all, alongside the delicacies they prepared.
The program is free, but registration is required! We can accept applicants up to a limited number, in the order of registration. You can register for each program point separately until midnight on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, by filling out the following form: https://forms.gle/Xf9jCkyZ7h1MSsyw5
