FROM PLANAR TO SPATIAL

2020.01.08. – 2020.02.22.

The exhibition presents the works of Department of Graphics, Form and Design students of Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Architecture. Inspired by and working together with the renowned artist István Haász, the second-year students of architecture explore the sovereign logic of architectonic thinking.

‘Visual thinking in plain surface and space, formal and spatial creativity in two and three dimensions. Our creative working process is a pursuit for means of interaction between dimensions and genres or art, while following the autonomous logic of visual thinking, whereby line becomes a drawing, the drawing turns into an image, the image transforms into a sculpture, and subsequently, into abstract architecture. Inspired by and working together with the renowned artist István Haász, our second-year students of architecture explore the sovereign logic of architectonic thinking, visual vocabulary and grammar; seeking for gateways between planar and spatial imagination they construct forms, spaces and structures in both two and three dimensions.’
