Let’s begin 2026 in a warmer climate – by traveling all the way to central Africa, to Nigeria. Our guides will be truly special: members of a Nigerian–Hungarian family who have been regular participants in the Children Around the World program for many years. This time, joined by a group of drummers, they will introduce this vast country that brings together many different ethnic groups.
Did you know that hundreds of languages are spoken in Nigeria, or that after Hollywood and India, it is the world’s third-largest film producer? You will also discover which UNESCO World Heritage sites can be found in Nigeria, what the most popular musical styles are, and in which year the national football team won an Olympic gold medal.
Programme:
from 9:30 – Arrival, registration, and a shared creative activity
10:00-10:20 – Interactive presentation about Nigeria
10:20-10:40 – Drum music led by Ayoola Olaleye
10:40-10:50 – Tasting of Nigerian dishes
10:50-12:30 – Themed arts and crafts workshops inspired by Nigeria, with the opportunity to try Ayo, the traditional Nigerian board game, as well as the drums
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
