The exhibition follows the history of skateboarding, an alternative sport that has become a subculture from the second half of the 1970s to the present day. Its aim is to show how a generation growing up in the changing Budapest of that time searched for a new way of life, to give a local interpretation of the “Western” lifestyle and to highlight important characteristics such as creativity, risk-taking and community-building.
